Decorating Your Little Girls’ Room On A Budget

by Richard Tanner on March 3, 2010

Little girls are made of sugar and spice and all things nice. Now if you have bought sugar and spice lately you know that they are not that expensive so why should decorating her room cost you a fortune? There is a way to create a dream come true princess room without robbing the bank.

Begin by giving her walls a make over with a fresh coat of paint in her favorite color. Pastels such as soft pink and lilac would be great to bring out her sweetness. Peel and stick Disney princess decals and princess appliques would serve to accent the walls further. She should love the fanciful decor as you can place these around the light switches or on her bedroom door. These can also be reused if you want to apply them on other surfaces, by simply peeling them off and reapplying them.

If she has a collection of stuffed animals in her room then you can display them using a pet net that can be hung up in a corner of her room. You can attach the hooks and anchor in a corner without taking up too much space.

To give her a new look on lighting you can replace the lampshade in her room. You can find a stylish lampshade that she will love at any bargain store. You may want to give her a pink light bulb for her lamp.

For her floors, you will find tones of beautiful area rugs online. These come in various designs, colors and patterns. A heart or flower shaped area rug on her floor would be a great addition for your low budget decor. This shouldn’t cost you a fortune either.

Change is good but you don’t need to get rid of all her old stuff. Take her bedspread and add lace around the edges. Pile her bed full of throw pillows for added comfort as well as style. Don’t just get a square pillow, opt for different shapes, colors, and sizes.

For the windows you can add cotton panels or even drapes. The best choice is a sheer panel with different colors. You can use the sheer panels on the outside of the windows and add a sheer white or cream in the center. On the top of the window try using a scarf waterfall valence with interlocking loops. This is not expensive but it look beautiful.

Remember that you can get a beautiful look for your little girl at an affordable price.

Don’t be ripped off by imitations. Be sure to buy authentic girls room rugs directly.
